Climb NEPA
The 3rd Annual Climb in NEPA is happening on September 28th at Nay Aug Park in Scranton.
It is an opportunity to raise hope, awareness, and support for families in NEPA affected by perinatal mental health disorders. The climb aims to decrease stigma associated with these disorders and create a community where families can feel seen and supported.
The Luzerne County Breastfeeding Coalition will be hosting a workshop and resource table at this event.

Find the Coalition at First Food’s Northwest/Southwest Spring Collaborative Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. All are welcome to attend the meeting. Meet with local lactation advocates (CLCs and IBCLCs) for personalized conversations, advice and one-on-one free support immediately following First Food’s event. The Coalition’s CLCs and IBCLCs will be available from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will be offering free pop-up breastfeeding support from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. only.
About the event: The Northeast Counties Medical Society is excited to host the eigth First Friday Scranton Health Fair on Friday, May 3, 2024, at The Marketplace at Steamtown in downtown Scranton. The health fair aims to increase health awareness through education and prevention.
This event is meant to promote good health, emphasize the practice of good health habits, and showcase the excellent medical care available locally. Professionals will provide basic health screenings, immunizations, and blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose checks, as well as a variety of informational booths designed to help the community become aware of the many health-related programs, services, and providers located in our surrounding area.

World Breastfeeding Week 2023
World Breastfeeding Week 2023 will focus on breastfeeding and employment/work. The theme is “Enabling breastfeeding: Making a difference for working parents” showcasing the impact of paid leave, workplace support and emerging parenting norms on breastfeeding through the lens of parents themselves. Target audiences including governments, policymakers. workplaces, communities and parents will be engaged to play their critical roles in empowering families and sustaining breastfeeding-friendly environments in the post-pandemic work life. The Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition (PABC) will be meeting in-person at the Lycoming County State Health Center, 1000 Commerce Park Dr #109, Williamsport, PA.
