  • Maternal & Family Health Services

    Founded in 1971, MFHS meets the ever-changing needs of women, children, and families by providing essential and innovative programming that improves the quality of life for women, children, and families. MFHS oversees and supports a network of health and nutrition centers in 17 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 90,000 women, men, and children annually through its core programs, including WIC and breastfeeding support.   • PAK Pediatrics

    PAK Pediatrics offers a comprehensive breastfeeding program to mothers at any stage of the lactation process. PAK’s breastfeeding center in Northeastern PA is open and available to anyone, not just existing PAK patients and families. Its mission is to provide support AND help you achieve your breastfeeding goals! Dr. Elizabeth Kosmetatos lead PAK’s NEPA Breastfeeding Center, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who manages common medical problems for both mom and baby. IBCLCs are qualified to provide skilled technical breastfeeding support to mothers and babies who may or may not be experiencing breastfeeding issues.   • The Happy Mama Place

    The Happy Mama Place offers a variety of services, including doula support for home or hospital births (now available either in person or via zoom), massage therapy for balance and pain reduction, as well as placenta encapsulation. Learn more at www.thehappymamaplace.com.

  • Lingua Speech, Swallow and Voice Services

    Lingua Speech, Swallow, and Voice Services is a nurturing group of professionals with high desire to do whatever we can to create a nourished community. Nourishment starts upon trying to conceive, which is supported by a registered dietician, guiding families healthy pregnancies. With prenatal coaching and nutrition, we help families to prepare for baby’s arrival, decrease symptoms of nausea, and fuel the energy needed during pregnancy.

    As the baby arrives, we have multiple CLCs and an IBCLC to guide your feeding goals to success. Whether you are pumping, feeding at breast or simply just curious on which products are best for your child's development, we strive to be your safe haven.

    Lingua offers specialty services including infant massage, pre/post frenectomy therapy, torticollis intervention, and NICU graduate care through our wonderful speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Appointments can be in the hospital, at home, or at our office where we make you feel as comfortable as possible.

  • Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition

    The Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition (PABC) strives to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PABC has gathered breastfeeding advocates from across the Commonwealth, who meet quarterly and communicate regularly through our listserv. Comprised of health professionals from hospitals, clinics, state-level public health departments, and universities, concerned parents and citizens, and volunteers from community organizations, each member contributes time, energy, and expertise to activities that support breastfeeding in Pennsylvania.   • First Food

    First Food is a program of the Pennsylvania Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics and funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health where we identify community partners and engage in collaborative efforts throughout Pennsylvania to increase the availability and access to policies and programs that support breastfeeding.   • ZipMilk

    ZipMilk is a site that provides listings for breastfeeding resources sorted by ZIP Code. It is designed for use by consumers interested in help or support for breastfeeding, as well as by providers who want to give their clients access to such resources. The data on ZipMilk is collected and maintained by state breastfeeding coalitions and other organizations, which are responsible for the state-specific listings on the web site. Reasonable verification of data is asked of each organization at least once a year. Resources may be collected from local organizations, which verify credentials of some individuals listed. Not all resources may exist in all states, or may not be listed at the discretion of each organization. Search terms are designed to be consistent from state to state, and to encompass as many multi-state as well as local resources as possible. Learn more at www.zipmilk.org.

    The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) is a national coalition of 100+ organizational members representing nonprofits (national, state, local, and community), breastfeeding coalitions, and federal agencies working to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding and human milk feeding. As a backbone institution, the USBC uses an equity-centered collective impact approach to manage multi-sectoral collaborations.
